Kozue [koh-ZOO-eh] is a bilingual (English and Japanese) yoga teacher living in Melbourne who is passionate about sharing yoga and helping people grow physically and emotionally in their practices. She started practicing Hot Yoga in 2010 with an interest in health and beauty and instantly fell in love with physical changes, the exhilarating sensation and the feeling of being at ease. She then began to study yoga seriously and completed her first Teacher Training course the following year. Kozue has been teaching for over 8 years at studios, one-on-one private lessons, classes for companies and commercial events.

Kozue has always been in pursuit of yoga and has exposed to many different styles of yoga. Based on her knowledge of yoga anatomy, which she is still studying, she strives to teach with the utmost consideration for safety by communicating correct alignment.

Kozue learned about the effects of the phases of the moon on her body and became interested in the connection between the natural rhythms and the rhythms of the body. Later, she began to teach "Lunar Yoga" a class that balances the mind and body according to the cycles of the moon phases and her classes, which incorporate elements of the lunar signs, have been well received. Since then, the phases of the moon have become a part of her life work together with her yoga practice. She also offers Power Yoga, Detox Yoga and Maternity Yoga. Her classes are tailored to individual physical/mental conditions and needs.

Kozue discovered the similarities between yoga and Thai massage, which balances the energy of the whole body, and obtained a Thai massage certification to deepen her knowledge of anatomy through yoga. She has given massages to many clients in Tokyo and Melbourne.

Through yoga, Kozue would like to help nurture the connection between people (yuju = "connection"  from the root of the word "yoga"). She loves to help share the joy of yoga with many people and expects to leave her classes feeling recharged both the energy in your daily lives and the healing of your body & mind. She is committed to share a safe yoga practice that allows you to breathe comfortably as well as enjoy the beauty of asana.
